We asked a local guide for a recommendation near Cenote Azul and he suggested El Arbolito—an authentic Mexican buffet style taquería with many many options (including a vegetarian section of the menu!) The employees were very kind and helped us navigate the restaurant in our broken spanish. The best part—-the handmade, fresh tortillas!!!
Very authentic food made from scratch, just of the main road
Just amazing! Our dive guide Alex from Coconut Divers took us here after our Cenote dives. He said this is a real authentic Mexican Taco place. Very hard to miss, kind of overgrown with some trees and bushes. The food was fantastic! Alex ordered for us and we each got 3 tacos. They had a number of pots with sauces, fixings and other things you could add to you food. I tried 3 if the sauces, the green which was the hottest then on down. They also make fresh juices as well, so I got a pineapple juice, which was just the right thing to help wash down the heat from the green sauce. If you can find it I diffently recommend this place. Good, fast traditional Mexican tacos!

I go back every year for the mole, amazing! Kind & quick service, amazing tacos, great overall! Highly recommend if you are staying in Puerto Aventuras (you are not going to get authentic tacos inside those gates), or driving by!
